It’s the going home show for the first Georgia game of the season!

After weeks of consternation and anticipation, it’s finally here. The DawgsHQ crew is locked in and ready for the Bulldogs to tee it up against the Thundering Herd on Saturday, but there’s still some business to attend to before we get there!

Kirby Smart is done talking

It was a more reserved, more succinct Georgia head coach that met the media this week, and it’s clear that the top Dawg is ready to move on from talking season. What do we make of the head man’s demeanor as his squad gears up for its opening matchup? Is Kirby trying to impart some focus and juice onto a young team ahead of a matchup that’s being widely overlooked? We dive in on the motivations behind it all and what it could mean for this weekend’s opening task.

Joenel Aguero ‘misinformation’

There was some buzz early in the week that the starting STAR in the Georgia defensive backfield could be sidelined for a bit with an injury, but Kirby Smart was quick to dispel those notions in his teleconference the day after. What do we make of his typical approach to the injury situations, and do we think he’s being forthcoming about this particular instance with us? What would it mean if the Dawgs were without Aguero anyway? We break down the STAR position and much more.

Final thoughts on Georgia/Marshall

What are we expecting out of the opening contest? Marshall is an intriguing opponent given the massive roster turnover and new coaching to boot, but can we expect to learn much about this Georgia team in the process of this contest? Also, how about those comments from KaTron Evans? The former standout defensive lineman certainly didn’t hold back on putting some fuel on the fire of this matchup. There’s much to discuss on it all.
