Georgia makes the post-season awards

Brett Thorson pulled down the Ray Guy Award. Beau Gardner secured the Patrick Mannelly Award (that goes to long snappers, by the way). The Dawgs were featured on numerous All-SEC and All-Freshman lists. What does this say about the current iteration of Georgia? In our estimation, quite a bit. It’s been a collective effort this season from the team, and this may be the more recent edition of the ‘No Name Dawgs’ with everyone pitching in to lead to the nation’s No. 3 team and a bye in the College Football Playoff. Is this what Kirby Smart and company would like to see? We break it down.

Gunner Stockton shows up in the Heisman votes

Jake Rowe didn’t throw his weight behind the Georgia quarterback in the Heisman ballot, and while the quarterback Georgia pursued this go round landed the award, there’s discussion to be had as to who deserved the honor and how the Bulldogs were shaped by their signal caller. It feels safe to say this team borrowed its identity from Stockton, and that has made all the difference.

Georgia Sugar Bowl prep is here

For a myriad of reasons, this should be a different Sugar Bowl than last year’s. While the Bulldogs will take nothing for granted in terms of its opponent (whether that be Ole Miss or Tulane), it’s probably been one of the softer weeks the Dawgs will face this season in an effort to get everyone right ahead of the holiday. How is Georgia spending it, though?

Elsewhere in College Football

Things may be quiet in Athens, but that doesn’t mean they are elsewhere in the world of college football. We look around the world of the NCAA and look at why Georgia should be thankful for its stability in this coaching staff.
