Georgia Tech toppled

Black Friday won’t be remembered as one of the top performances of the 2025 season for the Georgia Bulldogs, but despite a clunky performance on a number of fronts, Kirby Smart and the boy left the Benz victorious against the Yellow Jackets. Gunner Stockton was uncharacteristically hesitant by all we could tell and put out what may have been his most lacking performance since perhaps Austin Peay. There was an injury to Drew Bobo that has some folks on the board wringing their hands as to how the center position will be handled moving forward. How did we feel about Malachi Toliver’s performance in this one and can he shoulder the load moving forward? The defense played very solidly, however, limiting the Jackets in a major way, which was a bit of a bright light in this one.

The Alabama rematch is set

Round nine of Georgia versus Alabama under Kirby Smart was opened up on Saturday, thanks to Texas pulling off what a couple of us felt was a bit of a shocker. The Dawgs enter this one 1-7 against the Tide in their last eight meetings, so why might number nine be different? What’s changed since these two squads matched up earlier this year? Certainly there’s been some ascendance from the Bulldogs on multiple fronts, including both sides of the ball. But what about the Tide? Is this the same Bama team that Georgia saw in September, or have things changed in a way that could benefit the Bulldogs? We dive in on this matchup, what it means, and why Jake Rowe doesn’t think there’s voodoo afoot — it’s a matter of execution for the Georgia Bulldogs. Can they manage to correct those mistakes, slay the dragon, secure the SEC title and a top four seed on Saturday?
