The Georgia Show: Two big decisions set + Atkinson's final cut

Georgia set to find out on two major names in the Class of 2026
The summer heat continues to climb, and the heat on the recruiting trail is showing no signs of relenting either. On Saturday, the Georgia Bulldogs are set to learn the fate of two of their top targets in the Class of 2026, with five-star tight end Kaiden Prothro and four-star safety Tyriq Green set to announce their decisions. Prothro, a standout playmaker from west Georgia’s Bowdon High School, has been on the Dawgs’ radar for some time now, and there’s no doubt that Kirby Smart and company would love to add him to the already loaded tight end room. He’s more than just a tight end, however, and we dive in on the diverse skillset that makes Prothro a major target for the Bulldogs and others. Switching gears to Green, Georgia has put together an exceptional defensive back class to this point, but like Prothro, Green has seen major pursuit throughout his high school career. A physical safety who’s had the Bulldogs calling since his freshman season, is Green being pursued to be the next Javon Bullard? Kirby Smart’s involvement here certainly seems to suggest that this is a name you need to know in the cycle. We’ll learn plenty on Saturday, but we have you up to the speed on the latest with it all now.
Tyler Atkinson is down to four
There’s probably no name in the Class of 2026 as oft-discussed as that of Grayson five-star linebacker Tyler Atkinson, and that’s certainly for good reason. The coveted defender has cut his list down to four options — Georgia, Texas, Clemson, and Oregon. How do we see the Bulldogs stacking up in this race after pursuing for the longterm? How does he fit in with the defense in Athens? Can Glenn Schumann really bring another monster of this caliber into the fold? We answer it all when it comes to Atkinson.
What are the big needs for Georgia to round this all out?
Certainly the aforementioned names would go a long way to filling out the Class of 2026 for the Bulldogs, but where do they really need to hit in order to make sure it’s a complete cycle? Jake and Jeremy have some differing thoughts on the question, as there are certainly arguments to be made both ways. We take a look at the board and what’s next.
