The Georgia Show: Who needs a strong fall camp?

Rusty’s thoughts on the start of Georgia preseason camp
Our man Rusty Mansell is back on the show for the first time in fall camp, and he’s taking to the mic to open up on his early thoughts on what the Dawgs have been up to to kick things off this fall. What’s he feeling from listening to and sitting with Kirby? There’s youth abounding on the team. Is that an issue for the Bulldogs, or are they prepared to embrace that? The Gunner Stockton vibe was strong. What does that say? The ‘Fire, Passion, Energy’ or ‘FPE’ mantra seems to be running throughout the roster this season. Jake Rowe sees some crossover between that and the ‘connection’ of a previous, quite successful Georgia team. Is that a fair assessment? There’s much to get to in the early goings of camp, and we have you covered at every angle.
Who needs a strong camp?
Monroe Freeling is a guy that the Bulldogs will be looking toward to hold down the left tackle spot, and there were some mixed performances to finish last season. A big fall camp would go a long way for him, but that’s the case for the entire offensive line. But who else needs to take a step forward? Rowe turns to the Georgia cornerback spot where the competition is thick and fierce, with Ellis Robinson, Demello Jones, and Daniel Harris vying for CB2 minutes. Rusty, meanwhile, is turning toward the safety position…and there’s some real questions to ask there, as the Dawgs are sorting through three transfers and how they’ll shape the spot, along with JaCorey Thomas. Someone has to step up to play alongside KJ Bolden, but who will it be?

Georgia season predictions incoming
Rusty is soon to drop his season prediction, and while he didn’t give it away on this episode, there’s some useful insight into where he’s coming from when it comes to his thought process. What is driving him in making his calls?
Anthony Lonon is a Dawg
Of course, we couldn’t get out the door without mentioning a great pickup on the recruiting trail, as the Dawgs secured the services of a four-star defender on Saturday. The boys break down the latest addition and what he means to the fold moving forward.
