Two Georgia players arrested on misdemeanor charges
A pair of Georgia freshmen were arrested Friday evening on misdemeanor charges. Dontrell Glover, the Bulldogs’ starter at right guard for the past 10 games, and reserve running back Bo Walker were booked into the Athens-Clarke County jail for shoplifting.
According to the ACC jail log, both were booked on Friday evening, Walker at 5:30 p.m. ET and Glover at 5:55 p.m. Their bonds were set at $1,500 apiece. As of the time of this story, both players are currently incarcerated.
Glover took over as Georgia’s starter at right guard at the end of September against Alabama. That began a string of 10 straight starts for the Langston Hughes High School product. Earlier this week he was named as a true freshman All American by On3Sports. He was also voted to the coaches’ All-SEC team.
The former fourth-star prospect helped the Bulldogs get through a myriad of injuries on the right side of its offensive line. Starting right tackle Earnest Greene missed most of the first half of the season with a back injury. Juan Gaston, also a true freshman, began the season as Georgia’s starting right guard but lost that job to Glover as he battled multiple ankle injuries. Gaston has since settled in as the team’s sixth man.

Walker was a standout for Georgia this spring and early in preseason camp. Redshirt freshman Chauncey Bowens emerged later in camp, taking on the role of No. 2 tailback. Bowens’ surge plus the health of Josh McCray pushed Walker into a reserve role. He broke out in a week 13 win over Charlotte with three rushing touchdowns.
The University of Georgia wrapped up fall final exams this week. The Bulldogs don’t play again until January 1 in the Allstate Sugar Bowl. They’ll take on the winner of the first-round playoff matchup between No. 6 Ole Miss and Tulane, the No. 11 seed.
