WATCH: Highlights of new Georgia commit, top 100 prospect Justice Fitzpatrick

Kirby Smart was instrumental in the development of Minkah Fitzpatrick at Alabama, helping the standout defensive back win awards such as the Bednarik and Thorpe and locking down All-American honors in the process. On Tuesday, the bond with the Fitzpatrick family saw another chapter begin, with the Bulldogs securing the commitment of his younger brother, Justice Fitzpatrick, following his official visit to Athens this past weekend.
At almost 6-foot-1, 195 pounds, Fitzpatrick ranks as the nation’s No. 64 overall prospect per the On3 Industry Ranking. He is also the nation’s No. 7 cornerback and No. 11 prospect in the state of Florida by the same metric.
A product of Fort Lauderdale, Florida’s St. Thomas Aquinas High, Fitzpatrick chose the Bulldogs over the likes of Miami, Ohio State, Texas, and Florida.
“Coach Smart coached my brother at Alabama, so we know him really well,” Fitzpatrick told On3’s Chad Simmons in March of this year. “I know him well, my family knows him well and we have a great relationship. I have gotten to know the coaches at Georgia well, I have worked with them at camp and I feel like Georgia checks off most of my boxes.”

On film, it’s easy to see why the Bulldogs coveted his services, as he flashes closing speed on tackles, a nose for the ball when it’s in the air, and a physicality that Kirby Smart and company seek in their defensive backs.
The film on Justice Fitzpatrick
It’s clear that the four-star defender did his due diligence before making the call.
“I feel like the biggest part for me going up there will be about me being able to see myself playing there, playing under those coaches and really fitting into that program,” Fitzpatrick told Simmons. “I really want to get a good look at how they do things and get a feeling for what it would be like to be there. Georgia is a school I know a lot about, and I know the staff, so it will be about the other things.”
Fitzpatrick becomes the twelfth member of Georgia’s Class of 2026 and the fourth defensive back commitment of the cycle, joining safeties Jordan Smith, Zech Fort, and Kealan Jones.
