Beth Goetz talks NIL and men's hoops ticket sales
It’s a new era of college athletics these days. As of July 1st, Iowa and the rest of the Big Ten are paying their student athletes. We spoke with Iowa athletic director Beth Goetz on Thursday morning to get her take on everything that is going on with the House settlement allotment and how everyone is trying to understand the process, which is already changing, on a regular basis.
Goetz spoke about which sports are being funded thus far and she also discussed the changes coming to Carver-Hawkeye Arena and the fundraising efforts regarding upgrades to the facility that they hope will generate more revenue streams. Goetz also talked about new student seating for basketball games and how season tickets sales for men’s hoops have increased since the hiring of Ben McCollum.
