BOX SCORE RECAP: Hawkeyes grind out a win over Baylor

One of the basketball games of all time. It was messy, it was physical and it looked bleak for Iowa at times, but they found a way. In their first big test of the season, the 19th-ranked Hawkeyes were able to grind out a 57-52 win over 7th-ranked Baylor to move their undefeated start to 5-0.
The Hawkeyes jumped out to an early 9-3 lead, but struggled to put the ball in the basket for the majority of the first half, with Baylor blocking nine shots. An 11-0 run from the Bears, put them in from 23-16, but Iowa battled back to a 28-25 halftime deficit. Leading 33-26 in the third quarter, Baylor went 8:22 without a made field goal, allowing the Hawkeyes to go on a 15-4 run to take a two-point lead into the fourth quarter. The final ten minutes went back-and-forth for a while, but a crucial 9-0 run late put Iowa in front and they finished off the gritty win.
Iowa scored 57 points on 72 possessions (0.792 points per possession), while shooting 21-of-61 (34.4%) from the floor, 5-of-14 (35.7%) from three-point range and 10-of-16 (62.5%) from the free throw line. Ava Heiden led the way with a double-double 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Taylor Stremlow added 12 points and four assists off the bench. Hannah Stuelke put up 10 points and eight rebounds. Point guard Chit-Chat Wright left early in the second half and did not return.
