Cade McNamara carted off with leg injury

The Iowa quarterback position appears to have taken a hit early on against Michigan State. With the Hawkeyes pinned down at the two yard line, Cade McNamara scrambled and his left knee appeared to buckle.
The injury appeared to be non-contact and he needed assistance to leave the field and could not put weight on the leg. He went to the medical tent and then left the field on a cart.
This was the second significant injury for McNamara since he arrived in Iowa City. At the Iowa Kids Day practice he ran on a scramble and strained his quad. He missed a couple of weeks of practice and made it back to start the season opening game against Utah State.

McNamara was off to a solid start on Saturday against Michigan State. He completed a 23 yard pass to Diante Vines and then a 14 yard toss to Nico Ragaini. Overall he was 3-5 for 46 yards against the Spartans.
Iowa has not officially announced anything regarding his injury, but it’s safe to assume he will not return to the game today.
