Battle for Floyd of Rosedale under the lights

The annual battle for Floyd of Rosedale will be taking place under the lights at Huntington Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. The Big Ten announced on Monday that the game between Iowa and Minnesota will kickoff at 6:30 p.m. and air on NBC.
Minnesota leads the all-time series 63-52-2, but the Hawkeyes have generally dominated the series in the last decade. Iowa has won ten of the last twelve meetings, but the Gophers won in controversial fashion last year for the first time since 2014.

With 1:21 left in the game, Hawkeye defensive back Cooper DeJean appeared to give Iowa the lead after a 54 yard punt return for a touchdown. While Kinnick Stadium went wild, the Big Ten officials ruled that DeJean, who now plays for the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFL, gave an invalid fair catch signal and thus the miracle return was taken over the board. The Golden Gophers held on for a 12-10 victory, which the first for P.J. Fleck in the series.
Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz is 18-7 against Minnesota in his career. The Golden Gophers haven’t beaten Iowa in Minneapolis since beating the Hawkeyes 51-14 in November of 2014.
This weekend Iowa will host Troy on Saturday afternoon and Minnesota hosts Nevada.
