Gabbie Marshall and Syd Affolter combine for key play in victory
While Caitlin Clark gets the headlines and rightfully so, the play of the game on Monday night went to Gabbie Marshall and Syd Affolter. With the score tied at 52 and less than three minutes remaining in the fourth period, Gabbie Marshall came up with a huge block of a jump shot and then Syd Affolter grabbed the ball and took it the length of the floor for hoop and an old fashioned three point play.
The two starters discuss the play and their roles in it. Marshall also talks about her final game at Carver-Hawkeye, the fan support and how loud they were at the game. Affolter discusses the physical nature of the contest and how they had to fight through it.
