While the Iowa football team is on a bye this weekend, that doesn’t mean that the folks at Hawkeye Report are taking time off. In fact, we have a lot going on with a busy week of Iowa sports to discuss on the podcast.

We open this week with Kyle Huesmann breaking down the Iowa women’s basketball team and their exhibition game on Thursday evening. Who were the surprise players from the game and who made the biggest impact on the contest? Did this impact how we view the Hawkeyes heading into the season and what might the fearless forecast look like this year?

Then we move on to the Iowa men’s basketball team. They start play on Tuesday and we have not yet had the chance to see them play after having a pair of secret scrimmages. What did we hear from those scrimmages and what might be an area of concern coming out of them? We look at some amazing Ben McCollum stats and give our fearless forecast for the upcoming season.

We move on to Iowa football where a rather honest quote from Iowa defensive coordinator Phil Parker about Oregon has set off Ducks fans. Is it much ado about nothing? What do we make of the Oregon team being a 6.5 point favorite

Finally we move to wrestling where Tanner LaFever joins us to break down everything he learned at Iowa wrestling media days for the men and the women. What were some of the storylines coming out of what Tom Brands had to say? What about the Iowa women, who will be chasing the first NCAA title in the history of the sport?
