Iowa defensive backs discuss former teammate on the Gophers
While the Iowa football roster isn’t generally hit all that hard by the transfer portal, it’s pretty natural that from time to time a teammates might move on to a school on the Iowa schedule. We saw that with Tyrone Tracy a few years ago when he transferred to Purdue. This past year, defensive back John Nestor decided to transfer to Minnesota, where he has had a pretty solid first year with the Gophers.
On Tuesday, we spoke with a couple of his former teammates in TJ Hall and Xavier Nwankpa and they said that while there is some contact, it’s not been strong and there won’t be any this week leading up to the battle for Floyd of Rosedale. Also, Nwankpa discusses his Player of the Week honor in the Big Ten and the stitches has on his ear and how he had to get a different padding in his helmet.
