Iowa defense sticks to fundamentals

On Saturday, the Iowa defense did their job. The Hawkeyes held Albany to just 177 yards of total offense on their way to a 34-7 victory in the season opening game. After allowing a touchdown scoring drive in the second quarter that put Iowa behind 7-3.
From there, starting middle linebacker Jaden Harrell says that coaches told them to get back to their fundamentals and they did just that. After giving up quite a bit of yardage in the second quarter and first half, Harrell, TJ Hall and company allowed just 18 yards in the second half on their way to the win. Hall and Harrell spoke to the media following the win.
