Iowa defense talks run stop struggles
It’s rare when the Iowa defense struggles to stop the run. One of those rare days happened on Saturday as the Oregon running backs ran over, around and by the Hawkeyes to the tune of 261 yards on the ground and 7.2 yards per carry.
Those early season struggles with tackling returned on a rainy afternoon in Iowa City as well. We spoke with Xavier Nwankpa and Jayden Montgomery about the struggles that Iowa had with tackling and stopping the running game. We also talked about the mentality and message that they had going into that final drive as the Hawkeyes tried to hold on to that one point lead.
