Iowa Men’s Basketball Head Coach Fran McCaffery thinks he has a good team set to take the court for the 2023-24 season and it is almost time to find out exactly what the Hawkeyes have. In just under four weeks, Iowa will get things under way at Carver-Hawkeye Arena for their exhibition contest against Quincy University.

Today, the tip times and television assignments were released for all of the Big Ten teams. The Hawkeyes will be on television for 26 of their 32 games, including a nationally televised game on FOX. The other six games will come on either BTN+ or NBC Peacock.

Big Ten Network (18 games)

Nov 29- vs North Florida (8:00pm)

Dec 4- at Purdue (6:00pm)

Dec 10- vs Michigan (3:30pm)

Dec 16 vs Florida A&M (3:30pm)

Dec 20- vs UMBC (7:00pm)

Jan 2- at Wisconsin (6:00pm)

Jan 6- vs Rutgers (11:00am)

Jan 12- vs Nebraska (8:00pm)

Jan 15- at Minnesota (5:00pm)

Jan 24- vs Maryland (6:00pm)

Jan 30- at Indiana (6:00pm)

Feb 8- at Penn State (6:00pm)

Feb 11- vs Minnesota (2:00pm)

Feb 14- at Maryland (7:30pm)

Feb 17- vs Wisconsin (1:15pm)

Feb 24- at Illinois (1:15pm)

Feb 27- vs Penn State (8:00pm)

Mar 2- at Northwestern (4:30pm)

If you ever are unsure what channel Iowa is playing on, check the Big Ten Network and go from there. 18 of their 32 games will be on the station, including 15 of their 20 Big Ten games. The most notable of the three non-conference games is the one at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines against Florida A&M. It is apart of the men’s and women’s doubleheader. The Big Ten conference opener at Purdue will be on BTN, as will the Hawkeyes conference home opener against Michigan.

FS1 (6 games)

Nov 14- at Creighton (9:00pm)

Nov 23- vs Oklahoma (2:00pm)

Jan 20- vs Purdue (1:00pm)

Jan 27- at Michigan (4:00pm)

Feb 2- vs Ohio State (6:00pm)

Mar 10- vs Illinois (4:30pm)

These are some pretty important games against some pretty darn good teams. The road trip to Omaha against Creighton is apart of the Gavitt Games, while the game against Oklahoma is the opening round of the Rady Children’s Invitational in San Diego.

As for the Big Ten portion of the FS1 slate, every game is an important one for an Iowa team that figures to near the NCAA Tournament bubble. Purdue, Illinois and Ohio State are all at Carver and all would be resume boosting wins.

BTN+ (4 games)

Oct 30- vs Quincy (Exh) (7:00pm)

Nov 7- vs North Dakota (7:00pm)

Nov 17- vs Arkansas State (7:00pm)

Dec 29- vs Northern Illinois

Nothing too crazy here. The three regular season games come against teams that finished well below .500 last season. Notably, the game against North Dakota is the season opener.

NBC Peacock Streaming (2 games)

Nov 10- vs Alabama State (7:00pm)

Feb 20- at Michigan State (6:00pm)

The Hawkeyes fared pretty well when it comes to games on Peacock. They have just two games on the streaming service, with one coming against a team that went 7-23 last season. Seven Big Ten teams will play four or more games on Peacock, while Purdue will play a conference-leading seven on the NBC streaming site. Northwestern sneaks away with just one game (Jackson State).

FOX (1 game)

Nov 24- vs Seton Hall/USC (5:00pm)

The Hawkeyes will get just one game on national television and it could come against Bronny James in San Diego for the Rady Children’s Invitational. The result of the tournament opener against Oklahoma will determine whether it will be the championship or the third place game.

ESPNU (1 game)

Dec 7- at Iowa State (7:00pm)
