Notable Games

at Rutgers (Dec 6) – The Hawkeyes go on the road to open conference play for the fourth consecutive season. This one comes in between a home game against Fairfield (Nov 30) and a trip to Ames to face Iowa State (Dec 10). The good news is that the Scarlet Knights went 3-15 last season in Big Ten play.

at USC/UCLA (Jan 29/Feb 1) – It just so happens that, at this moment in time, the best two of the four west coast schools are both in LA, making this a very tough trip. UCLA will be a preseason top eight, maybe even top five team in the country led by NPOY candidate Lauren Betts. The Trojans will take a step back with JuJu Watkins out due to injury, but they’re still a fringe top 25 team. The three games prior to the trip out west (vs MSU, at Maryland, vs OSU) makes this spot even tougher

vs Minnesota (Feb 5) – The Hawkeyes have dominated this border rivalry, winning each of the last 11 meetings dating back to 2018, but this is one to take seriously this time around. WBIT champions last season, the Gophers return all five starters and get All-Big Ten guard Mara Braun back from injury. Fresh off of the trip to the west coast, this will be an interesting one.

vs Michigan (Feb 22) An up-and-coming team in the conference last season, the Wolverines might be ready to make a push to finish near the top of the standings this year. They return three of their top four scorers, including rising star sophomores Olivia Olson and Syla Swords. This is the biggest conference home game for the Hawkeyes.

The Hawkeyes will open the 2025-26 campaign with an exhibition game on October 30th against DII Ashland College. The official regular season opener is set for November 3rd against the Southern Jaguars at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
