It’s a new era for the Iowa Men’s Basketball team. After 15 seasons with Fran McCaffery at the helm, the keys to the program have been turned over to Ben McCollum. One of the hottest coaching names in the sport, McCollum has made a name for himself at Northwest Missouri State and Drake. Now, he’ll try to carry that momentum over to Iowa, where the Hawkeyes have not been to the Sweet Sixteen since 1999.

On Thursday afternoon, members of the media were able to get a glimpse at the new look Hawkeyes. That includes a brand-new coaching staff and an almost entirely new roster, led by Drake transfer Bennett Stirtz. Although the regular season opener against Robert Morris is still 138 days away, there’s a lot of excitement around the program.

HawkeyeReport.com photographer Dennis Scheidt was at Carver-Hawkeye Arena on Thursday afternoon to capture some photos of the action.
