Rick Heller speaks at Iowa Baseball Media Day
Coming off of a 44-16 season that saw the Hawkeyes make it to their first NCAA Tournament Regional since 2017, the Iowa Baseball team has a lot of hype surrounding them heading into this season. Rick Heller’s team has appeared in many preseason polls, including a #20 ranking in the D1Baseball Top 25, while several sites are projecting them to host a regional this season. The bulk of the excitement is centered around the starting rotation headlined by Brody Brecht and Marcus Morgan. Meanwhile, talented sophomore Cade Obermueller is set to start on Sunday’s.
Rick Heller met with the media on Tuesday afternoon to preview the upcoming season. Heller talked about the importance of getting outside in February to practice, managing the hype around this year’s team and, of course, plenty of talk about the starting rotation.
