Syd Affolter talks advancing to the national title game

A year ago when the Hawkeyes advanced to the national title game, Syd Affolter had a completely different role for the team. She played just 111 seconds in Iowa’s loss to LSU, but this year, Syd is set for a brand new experience. Affolter has displayed grit, heart and determination on the court all season as a spark off of the bench, but since the injury to Molly Davis, she has stepped up a huge contributor in the starting lineup. Syd finished with eight points, seven rebounds and two assists in the win over UConn on Friday night.
Affolter met with the media after the game to discuss her big offensive rebound in the final seconds, her excitement for playing in the national title game again and what changed for them in the second half.
