WATCH: Jan Jensen, Hawkeyes starting prep for the WBCA Showcase

The competition is about to ramp up. After four comfortable wins to start the season, the Iowa Women’s Basketball team will head to Orlando for the WBCA Showcase this week. Whatever the result is of their two-game trip, the Hawkeyes will learn a lot about themselves going up against 7th-ranked Baylor on Thursday and an NCAA Tournament caliber Miami FL team on Saturday.

Layla Hays and Journey Houston met with the media on Monday morning to discuss the weekend ahead in Orlando. They spoke about the start to their respective freshman seasons, how they’ve tried to fit into their roles with the team and more.

We also met with head coach Jan Jensen. She discussed the upcoming matchup with Baylor and what see from the Bears, as well as how her substitution patterns may change with more competitive games ahead. She also spoke about what she wants to see from her team at the WBCA Showcase, the progress with the frontcourt players and more.
