WATCH: Jan Jensen, Hawkeyes talk win over Western Illinois
The Iowa coaching staff is still trying to figure out when to use what pieces and how to structure their rotation. On Wednesday night, the Hawkeyes were shorthanded, with three players out, making the job even tougher. They worked through some choppy stretches and had four players score in double figures en route to an 86-69 win over Western Illinois. With the win, Iowa moves to 7-0 on the season.
Head coach Jan Jensen met with the media after the win, discussing the performance of Addie Deal and working with a shorthanded lineup, while she updated the status of a couple of players that missed Wednesday night’s game. The media also met with Addie Deal and Taylor McCabe. Deal put up a season-best 17 points, including three triples, while McCabe added 15 points and five made threes.
