After announcing his verbal commitment to Iowa on Friday, four-star offensive tackle Nicolai Brooks met with the media to discuss his decision, his future as a Hawkeye, and much more.

The 6-foot-8, 370-pound junior from Cedar Rapids Kennedy chose Iowa over scholarship offers from Alabama, Georgia, Florida State, Tennessee, NC State, South Carolina, Penn State, Auburn, LSU, Ole Miss, Georgia Tech, Michigan, Michigan State, Texas, Miami, Mississippi State, Florida, Louisville, Central Florida, Grambling State, UAB, Iowa State, Wisconsin, Pittsburgh, Nebraska, North Carolina, and Kansas.

Currently, Brooks ranks among the top players in the country in the Class of 2025 and No. 1 in the state of Iowa.

Overall, Brooks is commitment No. 2 for Iowa in the Class of 2025 as he joins in-state OL/DL Joey VanWetzinga from Pleasant Valley.
