Big 12 Rankings: Kansas State slips after struggle at the bottom
1. Texas Tech
They continue to breeze through the league.
2. BYU
When your only loss is to the easily best team in the league on the road, there is no reason to demote you. But watch out for Cincinnati this weekend.
3. Utah
The Utes are lurking, hoping for some slip-ups to get to the Big 12 title game. But their best way forward might be to sit at home and backdoor into the CFP, instead of signing up for another loss to Texas Tech.
4. Arizona State
Jeff Sims hasn’t crashed the car yet.
5. Cincinnati
You can’t lose at home to Arizona in the Scott Satterfield Bowl.
6. Houston
Willie Fritz should be coach of the year in the Big 12. Beating TCU would solidify that in my mind.
7. Arizona
Schedule merchants, but they are winning games.
8. Iowa State
Are the Cyclones coming alive at the right time to finally beat Kansas?
T-9. Kansas State
I am not sure that there has been a singular performance and outcome that changed my opinion as fast as last week’s versus Oklahoma State. Kansas State had to grind out a gross 14-6 win, and lost their top receiver in the process. I think things might be trending downhill, and Utah is a bad place for that to begin.

You don’t really know what you are going to get from them. They continue to be the same team from the last few seasons.
11. Kansas
The only team with a .500 record or better that they have beaten is Fresno State, in Week 0.
12. Baylor
Good news Big 12 fans, Dave Aranda gets another year in Waco!
13. West Virginia
Being better than the real stinkers of the league is worth something at least.
14. UCF
I think the Knights are running out of gas.
15. Colorado
Things are going exactly as we expected them to.
16. Oklahoma State
That had to be a painful experience in a year full of them for Cowboy fans and players. Might they get a road win at UCF? If they do, it will be their first conference victory since November of 2023.
