Buzz: Toughest road games for Kansas State this season
Our Kansas State buzz comes via a message board post at KSO and digs into all sorts of relevant topics in Wildcat land. We’re going to examine the 2025 schedule this time around and point out the tricky spots for K-State away from Manhattan.
Sure, someone could point to Iowa State since it is technically a home game on the schedule this season, but Kansas State did opt to trade it in essentially for an opportunity at a money grab to play the Cyclones in Dublin, Ireland instead.
Sure, playing North Dakota (despite being an FCS squad) while jet-lagged and on short rest probably won’t be easy. Army offers a unique task because the preparation is so different. But really the first difficult home game on the K-State schedule is versus Baylor.
The Bears finished the year hot (if you don’t count the bowl game), and Sawyer Robertson is a dangerous quarterback.

LINK: Why Waco will provide a challenge
Some will disagree with me for leaving Oklahoma State off the list since Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater is a house of horrors for Kansas State. I won’t argue that, but nobody on the schedule wants to beat the Wildcats more than Kansas.
LINK: Sunflower Showdown in Lawrence could be a trap
Finally, don’t sleep on Utah this year. Last year could have been a fluke since they had problems at quarterback due to the uncertainty that surrounded Cam Rising. What if Devon Dampier is the answer? The Utes could be right back in the thick of a league title race.
LINK: What if Utah is back?
We provide a hint below of what’s inside.
- Baylor and Kansas State could play twice.
- Jayhawks badly want a piece of the Wildcats.
- K-State hasn’t fared well on the road in the state of Utah, yet.
