Buzz: Update on injured Kansas State defensive players

Our Kansas State buzz comes via a message board post at KSO and digs into all sorts of relevant topics in Wildcat land. We have learned several items about K-State football at Big 12 Media Days in Frisco, and some of it that was revealed reflected the outlook on a few injured players.

For Kansas State defensive back Colby McCalister it has been a shoulder injury that he has had to navigate through the offseason. It kept him out for spring ball, but will it leak at all into the regular season?

A guy everyone should be rooting for is Kansas State linebacker Asa Newsom, as he attempts to come back from a serious knee injury for the second time in a row. He’s everyone’s favorite in the locker room and nobody is pulling for him more than his teammates and coaches in Manhattan.

K-State will also need veteran linebacker Beau Palmer. He’s been a fixture on special teams for the Wildcats and also suffered a season-ending injury. Head coach Chris Klieman shared more about when they expect him on the field again.
