Kansas State has been rolling on the recruiting trail as of late. K-State’s 2026 class now sits at 12 commitments, with eight commitments coming in the month of June. One of the latest commitments for Kansas State is O’Fallon, Missouri, defensive back Garrick Dixon.

Dixon was a recent offer from K-State after a camp performance in Manhattan and he immediately jumped on the offer. Originally set to visit Iowa State over the weekend, Dixon canceled his trip to Ames to come to Manhattan instead.

“Being able to get around the coaches and players for a weekend, I was able to get a feel for the program and I knew it was the right fit,” Dixon began.

The moment he committed to Kansas State was special for the junior.

“It was great man, knowing that I’m going to be a part of something special,” he shared. “[The K-State coaches] were fired up and ready for me to get to work.”

A few moments on the visit stood out to the Missouri native.

“It was great being able to have many conversations with many coaches and getting around the players was amazing too,” he pointed out. “Watching the players lift was my favorite part because I was able to get a great look at how the team and program is.”

Dixon’s future position in Manhattan is a bit up in the air at the moment.

“I’m not quite sure yet, but I know I’ll be moved around to wherever they need me to in the secondary,” he noted.

While in Manhattan, Dixon was able to hang around fellow defensive backs Nick McClellan and Hannibal Navies who were also on their official visits. All three prospects hit it off and Navies committed to Kansas State just after Dixon.

“It was fun, we had a great time and they were great people,” he pointed out. “We really got to know each other in just a short amount of time.”

Kansas State’s coaching staff played a big role in landing the Missouri native.

“I was able to get a great look at how they are as people and how they run the program,” he concluded. “After seeing that, I knew it was something I wanted to be a part of.”
