Kansas State adds defensive tackle Carnell Jackson

Kansas State is back on the board in the 2026 class for the second time in two weeks. Auburn, Alabama defensive tackle Carnell Jackson has committed to K-State.

Back in October, Jackson took an official visit to Kansas State. He was also the first official visitor of the season for the Wildcats. His visit took place for the homecoming contest against TCU. While in Manhattan, he was also there at the same time as fellow K-State commits DJ Ackerson, Max Lovett and Nick McClellan.

Jackson’s commitment was more of a sprint than a slow burn. Kansas State actually offered the senior while he was committed to Arkansas. However, Jackson de-committed from the Razorbacks after the firing of Sam Pittman a few months ago.

Shortly after the Alabama native was offered by the Wildcats, he worked on scheduling an official visit for October 11. The senior then took an official visit to West Virginia before announcing his verbal pledge to K-State.

A hat tip goes to Kansas State assistant Mike Tuiasosopo for securing the verbal pledge of Jackson. The Wildcats have been on the hunt for a true defensive tackle in the 2026 class and now have it with the Alabama product.

Oklahoma native and K-State commit Kingston Hall and Swedish defensive tackle Adrian Bekibele are a bit more versatile and can play both defensive tackle and the 3-tech in the 4-2-5 defense, whereas Jackson is going to be a true nose guard for the Wildcats.

In total, the three-star prospect had offers from Arkansas, Houston, West Virginia, Memphis, Appalachian State, Alabama A&M, Arkansas State, Ball State, East Carolina, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Kennesaw State, Liberty, Troy, USF, UAB and Western Kentucky, in addition to Kansas State.

He is commitment No. 17 in Kansas State’s 2026 recruiting class.
