Kansas State adds legacy Lawson McGraw

Kansas State is back on the board in the 2026 recruiting class. Blue Valley West athlete Lawson McGraw has committed to K-State. His announcement comes just days after he was offered by the Wildcats. It was the offer he was waiting for all along and when it came he jumped on it.
The Kansas City area product is a legacy of the Wildcats. His father, Jon McGraw, played safety for K-State from 1998-2001. After his time in Manhattan, the elder McGraw spent 10 seasons in the NFL with three different teams, the New York Jets, Detroit Lions and Kansas City Chiefs, respectively.
His family ties to the program made him work for the offer and come to a Kansas State camp this summer on two different occasions to earn the offer.
In total, McGraw held offers from Arkansas State, Cornell, Illinois State, Coastal Carolina, Rice, Harvard, North Dakota, New Mexico, Eastern Michigan and Lindenwood before committing to K-State. Just before he committed to the Wildcats, McGraw took an official visit where he committed to Kansas State.

McGraw can do a little bit of everything. He has played linebacker, tight end and defensive end in high school. However, he will be listed as an athlete for the Wildcats and the coaching staff in Manhattan will figure out the rest later.
This past season at Blue Valley West, the junior tallied 45 tackles, 12 quarterback pressures, seven tackles for loss, a Sack, three forced fumbles (one recovered), three interceptions, two blocked kicks (one returned for a touchdown), as well as 10 receptions for 162 yards and three receiving touchdowns on offense.
Overall, McGraw is commitment No. 15 for Kansas State.
He joins the class with cornerback Brandon Ford, offensive lineman LaMarcus Barber, linebacker DJ Ackerson, offensive lineman Oliver Miller, running back Tanner West, offensive linemen Keegan Collins and Justin Morales, quarterback Miles Teodecki, offensive lineman Bennett Fraser, defensive tackle Kingston Hall, defensive back Garrick Dixon, safety Hannibal Navies, safety Nick McClellan and running back HD Davis.
