Kansas State hires Trey Scott as general manager
One of the key pieces of Collin Klein’s inaugural staff at Kansas State is now in place. Trey Scott has been hired as the K-State General Manager.
As college football has changed, front offices have as well. General manager is a relatively new role, but has become one of the most important. With revenue sharing and NIL merging in-house, that will be one of the focuses of Scott’s job.
He will also help manage the 105-player roster that is allowed under NCAA rules. Also any conversations with agents that will take place for recruiting.
That is one area where Scott’s background should come in handy. After a decade-plus run in NFL front offices with Washington and Las Vegas, Scott transitioned to the world of being an agent for coaches and players.

While in the NFL, Scott was on the trajectory of future general manager at a young age, peaking with the Raiders as their assistant director of player personnel.
Scott is also familiar with K-State; he was a quarterback on the roster, crossing over with Klein during the first few years of Bill Snyder’s return to coaching.
A Mill Valley grad and Kansas native, Scott will now help build the roster at K-State. Merging talent with the finances.
