Kansas State has pulled off another flip in the 2026 recruiting class. Pratt, Kansas tight end Arley Morrell has committed to K-State.

The Pratt native had had quite a whirlwind of a recruitment. Originally a Colorado State commit, Morrell actually visited Kansas State for the homecoming game against TCU October 11. K-State did not offer the senior after his game day visit and he actually ended up committing and signing with Iowa State December 3.

However, after Matt Campbell left the Cyclones for the job at Penn State he reopened his recruitment. Morrell was let out of his National Letter of Intent and told Greg Smith of Rivals he wanted to hear from Penn State and Kansas State. Just a few days later, he was offered by the Wildcats and pounced on it. Morrell was actually the first recruit to be offered since new Wildcat head coach Collin Klein took over.

This was definitely a slow burn type of recruitment. Kansas State had been recruiting Morrell for 2.5 years before offering. However, when the offer came decided to jump on it right away. It had been a long time coming between the two sides.

Kansas is always a major priority for the Wildcats on the recruiting trail. Morrell becomes the third player from the Sunflower State to join Kansas State’s 2026 class. He joins December signees Mill Valley offensive lineman Lamarcus Barber and Blue Valley West athlete Lawson McGraw.

In total, the Pratt native held offers from Arizona, Colorado State, Oregon State, Cornell, Iowa State, Illinois State, Lindenwood, Marshall, New Mexico, South Dakota, SEMO, Texas State, Tulsa, UTSA, Wake Forest, Washington State and Western Kentucky before committing to the Wildcats.

The senior is a three sport athlete at Pratt participating in track and basketball. Last season, he was named First Team All State at the 4A level on the hardwood by KSHAA averaging 20.3 points and 11.2 rebounds per game. On the track, he competes in triple jump, long jump and the 4X400 relay.

Morell becomes commitment No. 25 in Kansas State’s 2026 recruiting class.
