Kansas State lands junior college prospect Stephen Osei

Kansas State is back on the basketball scorecard as they land a junior college big in Stephen Osei from Casper College. He becomes the 10th known player for the 2025-2026 roster as long as big man Tyreek Smith is able to be approved for an extra year of eligibility.
This offseason K-State has now added guard Nate Johnson from Akron, Serbian guard/wing Andrej Kostic, UNC-Wilmington transfer big Khamari mcGriff and Monmouth guard transfer Abdi Bashir. The Wildcats also signed high school point guard Exavier Wilson from Columbia, Missouri.
Returning to Kansas State from last year’s team (in addition to Smith) are forwards Taj Manning and Mobi Ikegwuruka and guard David Castillo. And the Wildcats recently hosted Bowling Green forward transfer Marcus Johnson.
An interesting connection is that Osei was actually teammate with Abdi Bashir’s brother Abdul Bashir (an Auburn signee) at Casper.

Osei is originally from Canada and played for the FIBA U17 and U16 teams back in 2022. Last season the newest Wildcat averaged 11 points and six rebounds per game while shooting 63 percent from the floor. He did not attempt a single three-pointer, demonstrating that he primarily plays in the paint.
Sources have also indicated to KSO that he is currently injured and expected to redshirt his first season at K-State. He still has four seasons of eligibility remaining to play three (since the plan is to redshirt). Osei had other offers from Incarnate Word, UTSA, FDU and Eastern Illinois.
