Kansas State loses Qua Moss to transfer portal
A major offseason domino has fallen for Kansas State. Junior safety Qua Moss has announced his intentions to leave the program and enter the transfer portal.
K-State added Moss from West Georgia, a fledgling FCS school in the offseason. They won his commitment over Nebraska, and he announced on his way to the airport after visiting Lincoln.
Moss quickly became the transfer safety that K-State had thrived with over the Chris Klieman tenure. He flew to the ball, brought tons of energy and was always in the middle of plays. In one season with the Cats, Moss tallied 41 tackles and two interceptions, while also forcing a fumble and logging a sack.

Now Kansas State loses easily their best defensive back from 2025 and a player that fans and coaches would have wanted as a centerpiece for next season’s defense. It also means that a year after having to replace both corners, the Wildcats now have to replace every starting safety from 2025. VJ Payne and Gunner Maldonado both are graduating seniors.
In last year’s portal cycle, Moss was ranked as the 205th best transfer by On3, 19th at safety.
