Kansas State picked 9th in Big 12 poll, Haggerty named All-Conference

With Big 12 Media Day less than a week away, Kansas State has gained a better understanding of its preseason perception. The conference’s preseason awards and coaches poll was released on Thursday.
Kansas State was picked to finish ninth this season, picking up 117 points, just three behind Cincinnati in eighth. Houston was a near-unanimous pick to win the conference with 14 first-place votes, while BYU and Arizona each gained one of the remaining two.
Entering his fourth season as the head coach at Kansas State, Jerome Tang has now had teams picked to finish 10th (22-23, 10 teams in league),6th (23-24), 8th (24-25) and 9th (25-26).
Along with the preseason poll, a 10-member Preseason All-Big 12 Team was announced as well. Of the 16 schools in the league, only six were represented on the All-Big 12 Team, with PJ Haggerty of Kansas State being the lone Wildcat to make the list.
