Nuggets: Revenge game for Kansas State OC Matt Wells?

Nuggets on Kansas State (in terms of inside intel) is relegated to our message board at KSO but still spills out the best information on the Wildcats in the market. A storyline that was skipped this week is it will be the first time Matt Wells will coach versus Texas Tech since the Red Raiders fired him.
That’s on me. I’ll use this feature to cover it because I think it’s a thing, to be honest. I asked that very question to the K-State offensive coordinator at his regular Thursday press conference. And he actually got choked up at times discussing it, as it is where his kids graduated, but he also defended his legacy there a bit.
Is this a game he circles on the schedule?

What about the mind-set of Texas Tech? Sure, Kansas State may have their attention just because they’ve won eight straight and 12 of 13. The Red Raiders seemingly never beat the Wildcats on the road. But a lot of guys on the field for Texas Tech weren’t on the roster for any of that to matter.
Head coach Joey McGuire even took last week a bit lightly. He even admitted they didn’t put their best foot forward on purpose versus Oklahoma State, and that is why they didn’t play Behren Morton at quarterback when he was healthy enough to go.

Another angle? The Red Raiders play BYU next week and College GameDay could go to Lubbock.

For those that have missed it, in-state star JJ Dunnigan was long committed to Kansas but has since backed off his verbal pledge to the Jayhawks. What happened and where he does he sign in December when a decision must be made? Is K-State in the picture?
