Question of the Week: What is Kansas State baseball capable of rest of season?

After nine conference games, Kansas State sits in first place alone in the Big 12. What should expectations be the rest of the way for the Bat Cats?
After a slow start to the season, starting 1-3, it is crazy to think K-State has gone on a run like this. The Wildcats have won 18 of the past 23 games and have beaten some salty teams. Heck, D1Baseball put out a bracket with Kansas State as the No. 9 overall seed and even in contention to potentially host a super regional if they were to get there.
The expectation should be to keep winning series at home. K-State has been perfect at home this season, 10-0, and have blown teams out for the most part. It has been a trend under Pete Hughes to be dominant at Tointon Family Stadium.
Last season Kansas State was 20-7 at home, and in 2023 the Wildcats were 19-8 in Manhattan. The remaining series at home are not against good teams, either. Houston and UCF are near the bottom of the conference with Cincinnati in the middle of the pack. The West Virginia series May 9-11 will be a massive one and could help determine the Big 12 race if Kansas State keeps winning.

It does not seem to be unrealistic to expect a top-four seed at minimum for the Big 12 Tournament. Kansas State has struggled a bit on the road this season at just 3-6. However, this week looms large with four road games, with one at Wichita State (a 13-10 win) and three in Stillwater to face Oklahoma State.
I think the final expectation should be to make the NCAA Tournament with no worries after the Big 12 Tournament and be in contention to host the regional. Kansas State has started the season extremely strong. There is no indication of it slowing down. It looked as if it may be rough after the beginning of the season and losses in back-to-back nights in Omaha versus Omaha and Creighton. However, K-State responded well to those losses. There should be no drop off, and having to hope the Wildcats get in the NCAA Tournament. This should be a team that makes the tournament with ease.
