Our Kansas State recruiting scoop moving forward will now be via a message board post at KSO and sponsored by our friends at MyPerfectFranchise.net. We thank them for their partnership and supporting the Wildcats and our site at On3.

A major target over the summer was Arizona-based defensive back Mason Lewis. He got the full attention from defensive coordinator Joe Klanderman and the K-State coaching staff. The Wildcats may have even been in the lead at one point despite him committing elsewhere.

Since de-committing from Cal, Kansas State has re-engaged with Lewis. Are they a step ahead of everyone else or not?

Most of the 2026 class is already in the fold. That’s what happens in recruiting cycles anymore, as most of the work is finished by the end of the summer. That means it’s on to the next one, and K-State has already unlocked a few targets in the Class of 2027.

A less than desirable start on the football field can hurt teams, and Kansas State is one of those after a 1-2 start that could easily be 0-3. It also sometimes can impact classes and make current commits consider bolting elsewhere when other schools get in their ear.

Is that happening?
