St. Louis safety Nick McClellan picks Kansas State
Kansas State is still hot on the recruiting trail. They’ve landed St. Louis standout safety Nick McClellan on Father’s Day.
The announcement from McClellan comes on the heels of an official visit to K-State over the weekend. He was one of nine expected visitors in Manhattan. Could there be more fireworks? It is possible, as a few others could make sense as well, and the Wildcats have already secured defensive tackle Kingston Hall as well as Georgia safety Hannibal Navies and Missouri defensive back Garrick Dixon.
McClellan’s recruitment was much more of a marathon. He has been a long-time target of the Wildcats. Kansas State offered the safety over a year ago on May 1, 2024. From there the K-State coaching staff made it a priority to stay in constant contact with the three-star prospect.
He visited Kansas State shortly after being offered last summer and then returned for the Sunflower Showdown, watching the Wildcats defeat Kansas. Just before taking an official visit to K-State, the junior camped in Manhattan and really impressed the coaching staff once again.

While in The Little Apple on his official visit, he decided to make it official and commit to the Wildcats.
In total, McClellan held offers from Missouri, Miami (Ohio), Kansas, Iowa, Iowa State, Colorado State, Lindenwood, Toledo, Missouri State, Eastern Michigan, Wyoming and Western Illinois before committing to Kansas State.
It is tough to pin down another competitor in his recruitment because K-State had been out in front for a good bit of the process. Interestingly enough, McClellan is a bit like Wesley Fair in that he is the starting quarterback for his high school team. He also plays a bit of safety for Christian Brothers College.
McClellan is commitment No. 13 for Kansas State in the 2026 cycle and the ninth this month.
