LSU finishes with No. 4 recruiting class on On3
The LSU football staff has wrapped up the 2024 recruiting cycle with the No. 4 recruiting class on the On3 Rankings.
The Tigers signed 29 prospects as part of the 2024 haul, which includes a trio of On3 five-stars in offensive tackle Weston Davis, defensive tackle Dominick McKinley and tight end Trey’Dez Green.
How did the class unfold?
LSU keeps the fence up in Louisiana … and hit Texas hard
The LSU staff signed On3’s Top 5 prospects in Louisiana, and the Tigers closed out the cycle by reeling in 10 of the Top 11 players in the On3 Industry Rankings for the state.
20 of LSU’s 29 signees are Louisiana natives, which includes a pair of prospects who were born in the Bayou State but played their senior seasons in Texas in receiver Jelani Watkins and linebacker Xavier Atkins.
25 of the 29 signees played high school football in either Louisiana or Texas. Toss in Mississippi’s MaxPreps Player of the Year in PJ Woodland, and the Tigers inked 26 of 29 players from Louisiana or a border state.
The lone additions from outside of Louisiana, Texas and Mississippi came with signatures from Florida four-star quarterback Colin Hurley, Georgia four-star EDGE rusher CJ Jackson and North Carolina four-star offensive tackle Ethan Calloway.
The Final Class Rankings
The On3 rankings team was highest on LSU’s class as the lone service to have the Tigers with three 5-star signees. No other recruiting service had LSU finish with more than one five-star recruit.
On3’s final ranking saw the Tigers finish No. 4, trailing only Georgia, Alabama and Ohio State.
