In March, LSU hosted a major recruiting weekend when double-digit Top 100 prospects made their way to campus in Baton Rouge.

Among the recruits in attendance was 5-star+ quarterback commitment Bryce Underwood, who got on board with the Tigers in January.

One month later, Underwood hopped on another flight from Michigan to Louisiana, this time traveling to Baton Rouge for the annual L-Club Spring Game.

Underwood, the No. 1 overall prospect on the On3 Industry Rankings for the 2025 cycle, has been firm with his verbal pledge to LSU since joining the class in January.

Following his commitment, the NCAA’s Dead Period lasted the month of February, and now Underwood has returned to campus at LSU for visits in both March and April. The nation’s top signal caller still has an official visit to LSU remaining.

During his trip to LSU in March, Underwood was on campus at the same time as a pair of the nation’s best wide receivers in 5-star Dakorien Moore and 4-star Jaime Ffrench as well. Moore has been committed to LSU since August, while Ffrench backed off his Alabama commitment and remains open with his process.

“I enjoyed it a lot,” Underwood said. “I got to join a lot of the top players around the country and just recruit them, as well as me being there.”

Now, Underwood makes his LSU Spring Game visit on the same weekend as one of the staff’s other top targets at wide receiver in Texas 5-star Kaliq Lockett, who checks in behind Moore as the No. 2 wide receiver on the On3 Industry Rankings for the 2025 class.

Lockett, who is uncommitted, has already locked in a summer official visit to LSU.

While teams have battled to get Underwood on campus, he’s yet to make any other visits beyond LSU following his commitment in January. Underwood has maintained he’s locked in on the Tigers in an offseason that follows a historic season that saw LSU finish No. 1 in the NCAA in total offense with a Heisman Trophy winner at quarterback in Jayden Daniels.

Now, Daniels is projected as a likely Top 3 pick in the NFL Draft later this month.

With quarterbacks coach Joe Sloan being named LSU’s offensive coordinator, the third-year assistant’s ties to Underwood have only strengthened.

“They develop quarterbacks pretty well,” Underwood said, “They get people where they want to be.”
