WHAT’S UP TODAY
First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?
As you look at college football hires following head coach firings/departures … well, logically it stands to reason that the new coach is taking over a not-great roster (hence the prior coach getting fired), and that if the new coach is going to succeed you’ll see an upward trend in wins over his first three or four years. We take a closer look at how that relates to Mario Cristobal entering Year 3 at Miami, so don’t miss that analysis.
There’s also our continuing analysis of the top 50 roster players, giving insight onto this team’s talent level and depth. Check out our closer look at No. 32, CB D’yoni Hill.
In recruiting?
A huge visit weekend is upcoming, and this morning we have a preview with one of the key visitors – Jacksonville (Fla.) Duncan U. Fletcher interior offensive lineman Takaylen Muex shares his thoughts heading into it.
Plus, for the first time since March, Leo (Ind.) four-star 2025 tight end Brock Schott will be back in Miami this weekend for his official visit with the Hurricanes. Get his take.

Another update: On3 is hosting more than two dozen top 2025 recruits at the second annual On3 Elite Series, including several priority Miami targets. National recruiting reporters Steve Wiltfong and Chad Simmons caught up with Hurricane recruiting priorities DJ Pickett (a Five-Star Plus+ cornerback), Jaime Ffrench (a five-star receiver) and Vernell Brown (a top-50 wideout). Get the latest from Nashville.
As always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY
Our roster is getting better: 2025 draft class … Posted by cortez55403
The poverty of our recent rosters has been reflected in our modest to lousy performances in recent draft classes. While Michigan, Ohio St, Georgia and Bama have flourished, we have floundered.
But, let’s look ahead to the 2025 draft. How many Canes will be selected? I subjectively divided the draft eligible Canes into players “likely” and “possibly” to be drafted:
LIKELY
Ward, Martinez, Mauigoa, Rivers, Cooper
POSSIBLY
Restrepo, George, Barrow, Clark, Powell, Porter, Mesidor, Arroyo, Alston, Carpenter
BOTTOM LINE
We should see at least 5 players drafted and maybe even stretch to 10+ if we are fortunate. I don’t see any first rounders in the group. Thats for future years where annual draftees in the 8-10 range with two first rounders each year would spell enduring success on the field for the Canes.
Whaddaya think: can we get to that level of talent?
