Good Morning Canesport 6.3.24 Miami Hurricanes News of the Day

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

It was a huge official visit weekend, of course. And we caught up with tons of players for their takes that you won’t want to miss: Byron Louis, Jaden Wilkerson, Eric Winters, Shekai Mills-Knight, Floyd Boucard, Andrew Purcell, Tyler Williams, LSU commit Jaboree Antoine, Aidan Anding, Javeon Campbell, Zion Grady, TK Muex, Luka Gilbert, Ezekiel Marcelin, Brock Schott and Hayden Lowe.

We have some great updates on Cam Ward and Damien Martinez you don’t want to miss. We take a closer look at Ward’s development and fit at Miami with an assist from his personal QB coach, and we also catch up with Martinez as he’s working hard getting ready to make a big impact on the Miami offense.

Then we also take a closer look at the transfers in this year’s class and note how perhaps it’s different than the hit-or-miss transfer portal adds of the prior two years.

There’s also our continuing analysis of the top 50 roster players, giving insight onto this team’s talent level and depth. Check out our closer look at No. 29 Marley Cook, No. 28 Jaylin Alderman and No. 27 Jadais Richard.

Plus we have a new Inside The Lines feature with commit Malachi Toney you’ll want to check out.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

Will Miami have a player with 10 sacks this year? … Posted by GOCANES

I think No to one guy with 10… however I think we can get elite pressure on the QB as a team… that starts at 30-32 sacks as a team… there were 9 teams last year with 40 sacks led by penn st at 49 sacks… with the combo of guys we have and the schedule I believe we can get between 35-40 sacks as a team led by one or two guys with 7-9 sacks individually … that would be elite pressure in my eyes

“I had to realize what makes him Cam Ward and what makes him special. Once I kind of realized that and figured out ways to make him better at what he does, we kind of took off from there. I think that’s why we work so well together. Just being able to understand that we want to clean up something, but just being able to be on the same page and understanding that he’s not the traditional guy and he’s different. He’s the new-age quarterback. A Patrick Mahomes type guy, a Caleb Williams type guy.”

Cam Ward’s QB coach, Darrell Colbert Jr.
