MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY
Our Roster … Posted by Richmond_Cane
My opinion is that we have the following:
QB – Cam, based on previous performance is maybe a top-tier performer and we have a proven backup quarterback in Poff.
RB – Martinez is a proven performer and we appear to have some serious talent with Fletcher, Johnson, Wheatly-Humphrey, Allen, and a couple of talented freshmen.
TE – Arroyo should be an immediate upgrade from last year; everyone says Lofton should be a beast; Williams and Carver are proven backups.
WR – Restrepo and George have performed very well; Horton should be performing better with a year under his belt. We also have a boatload of talent on the bench: Trader, Carr, Washington, Joseph, Kirk.
OL – Mauigoa, Cooper, Rivers, and Carpenter are proven performers, not all elite. Among the rest: Okunlola, Bell, Kinsler, and McCoy we should be able to find a fifth starter and good backups. I’m not too sure about the rest. I don’t know how many teams other than Bama, OSU, Mich, and GA can lineup 5 elite OL across the line, but I’m probably wrong. This group is yet to be proven, but we expect an improvement over last year.
DL – I believe this is one of the most talented groups in the country. I’m not going to list them, but Mario has done a tremendous recruiting job here and has delved into the portal to grab some serious talent.
CB & S – A lot of promise, but unproven.
LB – Much improved with new and experienced bodies: Mauigoa, Bissainthe, Washington, Pruitt, Bryant, Aguirre, Hayes.
K – Borregales and Joyce are top performers.
This is not a National Championship roster, but it should be a top 15 team with 10 wins at least.
