EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State bounced back from an unlikely start to the season with a pair of unlikely offensive heroes in Friday night’s 2-0 victory over New Hampshire, at Munn Ice Arena. The victory gave Michigan State a split in the two-game series with New Hampshire, after the No. 2-ranked Spartans suffered a 4-3 upset loss to UNH on Thursday night.  A pair of Michigan State defensemen scored for Michigan State as senior captain Matt Basgall opened the scoring at 14:12 of the second period, from Charlie Stramel and Porter Martone. Junior defenseman Patrick Geary gave Michigan State a 2-0 lead 2:36 into the third period. Goalie Trey Augustine turned away 13 shots to record the shutout. Michigan State out-shot the visitors 38-13 on the night.  “It was a good response by our group when you take a look at yesterday’s game,” said Michigan State head coach Adam Nightingale. “I still think there was a lot of good that we did (on Thursday night), but not enough of it.
