Last time Central Michigan played in Spartan Stadium, Michigan State was ranked and the Chips played lost by just 11 points. Spartan fans will be disappointed if this weekend's opener is that close, but Mel Tucker expects a four-quarter game for the Spartans. “We showed players the last time at Central came here, a really tight game,” Tucker said. “We showed them the highlights and we showed them the commentary that the Big Ten Network had after the game just to make sure that everyone understands the challenge at hand. I think it’s good to be able to play in-state schools. It’s good for our state. It’s going to be a dogfight. It’s going to be a challenge, no doubt about it. It always has been.”
