Michigan State listed the following players as “out” for Saturday’s game against Indiana: wide receiver Alante Brown, tight end Jayden Savoury, tight end Brennan Parachek, kicker Tarik Ahmetbasic, long snapper Kaden Schickel, linebacker Marcellius Pulliam, guard Kristian Phillips, defensive back Ade Willie and left tackle Stanton Ramil.

The following players will miss the remainder of the year due to injury: rush end Anelu Lafaele, linebacker Brady Pretzlaff, offensive guard Luka Vincic, tackle Ashton Lepo, cornerback Andrew Brinson and defensive back Caleb Gash. Lepo is a new addition to the list.

Michigan State safety Nikai Martinez and defensive tackle Grady Kelly as “questionable.”

The Spartans removed defensive end Jalen Thompson and defensive back NiJhay Burt from the availability report, meaning they are presumably ready to play after missing last week’s game against UCLA.

Michigan State did not list quarterback Aidan Chiles on the availability report. He left last week’s game after taking a big hit at the beginning of the third quarter.

With Lepo and Ramil unavailable, Michigan State will count on Conner Moore and Rustin Young, among others, to hold down the tackle positions. Phillips sustained his injury against UCLA. Gavin Broscious and Caleb Carter will receive a bulk of the reps at guard with Phillips and Vincic out.

If Martinez can’t play, Michigan State will rely on Armorion Smith and Devynn Cromwell, among others, to make an impact alongside Malik Spencer at safety. The Spartans’ depth at defensive tackle should help nullify Kelly’s potential absence. Ben Roberts missed last week’s game against UCLA, but did not appear on this week’s availability report.

With Willie unavailable for the third straight game, Michigan State will continue to rely on Dontavius Nash, Smith and Jeremiah Hughes, among others, at nickel back.

Jack Velling and Michael Masunas are sure to receive a bulk of the snaps at tight end with Savoury and Parachek out. This is Savoury’s second missed game of the year.
