Michigan State and Duke have met 19 times, with the Blue Devils owning a 15-4 record in those games. The Spartans and Blue Devils last met in a Champions Classic game on Nov. 14, 2023. Duke won, 74-65. The Blue Devils hold a 3-2 edge in the teams’ last five match-ups.

Duke finished the 2024-25 season – Jon Scheyer’s third year as head coach – with a 35-4 (19-1) record. The Blue Devils won the ACC regular season and tournament championships and fell to Houston in the Final Four. Michigan State finished the year with a 30-7 (17-3) record. The Spartans won the Big Ten regular season championship and fell to Auburn in the Elite Eight.

Michigan State finished the season ranked No. 7 in the AP Poll, while Duke finished the season ranked No. 3.
