EAST LANSING, Mich. - More than two dozen defensive regulars contributed as part of the playing group for Michigan State in holding Western Michigan without an offensive score, Friday night. But head coach Jonathan Smith gave a nod to the Spartans’ 12th man - the home crowd - with assisting on the defensive shutout.  “Defensively, that was pretty good effort and was helped by our crowd,” Smith said.
