5-star kicker Micah Drescher commits to Michigan

Michigan landed another specialist commitment Wednesday afternoon, securing a pledge from Micah Drescher, a class of 2026 kicker from Hinsdale (Ill.) Central High. He’s the program’s second five-star special teams commit of the past week.
Drescher is the No. 4 kicker in the country according to Chris Sailer Kicking and checks in at 6-3 and 190 pounds. He will be on full scholarship with the Wolverines, per his commitment post. Northwestern, Army and Air Force also offered him a scholarship, while UConn extended a preferred walk-on opportunity.
He visited Michigan March 22 to watch the Wolverine specialists in action. That was his first public trip to Ann Arbor.
“Fantastic to attend spring practice in Ann Arbor yesterday,” Drescher posted after the visit. “Thank you for the experience.”
His accolades with Chris Sailer Kicking include: 2024 Vegas XLIII Class of 2026 Field Goal Last Man Standing Champion, 2024 IL Fall Camp Kickoff Champion and 2025 Top 12 Camp Selection.

Here’s his full bio on chrissailerkicking.com that outlines why he’s a Power Four kicking prospect.
“Micah is an outstanding high school kicking and punting prospect. He is a great looking athlete with one of the strongest legs in America. Micah does an excellent job on the field goal, a strength. He hits a pure, accurate ball off the ground and has 55+ yard range. His kickoffs are strong, D1 ready. Micah’s best ball measures 70+ yards, with 4.15+ hang time. Also a very talented punter. Micah punts for a nice combination of distance and hang time. A competitor who thrives under pressure. I look forward to seeing what the future holds. He has a bright future at the college level with continued hard work. Look for him to dominate this offseason picking up D1 offers along the way. Micah is well on his way. Outstanding prospect. OFFER NOW!!!”
The Wolverines also landed a five-star long snapper pledge last week from Colton Dermer, another rising senior from Phoenix (Ariz.) Sandra Day O’Connor High. He’s the No. 6 snapper in the nation, per Kohl’s Kicking.
He’s the No. 11 commit in U-M’s class that ranked No. 21 nationally and No. 7 in the Big Ten before his pledge to the Wolverines.
Michigan also holds commitments from Dermer, Top 100 Billings (Mont.) West tight end Matt Ludwig, Top 100 Newberry Park (Calif.) High quarterback Brady Smigiel, On300 Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin cornerback Brody Jennings, On300 Chicago (Ill.) Simeon EDGE McHale Blade, three-star Cartersville (Ga.) Cass offensive lineman Bear McWhorter, three-star Washington (D.C.) St. John’s EDGE Tariq Boney, three-star Denver (Colo.) Mullen tight end Mason Bonner, three-star Liberty Hill (Texas) High defensive lineman Alister Vallejo, three-star Dallas (Texas) Parish Episcopal wide receiver Jaylen Pile.
